Manila LGU begins Christmas box distribution

The city government of Manila started the Christmas gift box distribution to over 5,300 families in the city on Friday, Dec. 1.

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan and Manila Vice Mayor John Marvin Yul Servo-Nieto led the Christmas box distribution around 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Bangkaso covered court and Barangay 148 covered court in Tondo, Manila.

A total of 1,844 families from Barangays 70 and 71 while around 849 families from Barangay 148 received the gift boxes.

“Nandito [kami] sa inyong lugar upang maghatid ng kasiyahan para sa darating na kapaskuhan. Ito man lang po ang aming paraan para pasalamatan po kayong lahat sa walang-sawang pagtitiwala at suporta ninyo sa amin (We are here to bring joy this coming holiday season. This is our way to thank you all for your tireless trust in and support for us),” Lacuna-Pangan said.

“Gusto lang po namin na ang inyong kapaskuhan kasama ang inyong pamilya ay maging maginhawa, kaya ito po, [Christmas gift] talagang pinaghandaan po namin. Pagpasensyahan n'yo po. Sana po sa darating na kapaskuhan sama-sama pa rin ang buong pamilya magdiriwang sa kapanganakan ng ating Panginoon (We just want your holiday season with your family to be happy so we prepared these Christmas gift boxes as our little help. I hope that this Christmas, your whole family will be together to celebrate the birth of our Lord),” she added.

The city government will conduct another distribution at 3 p.m. on Pedro Guevarra Street (Jonis) in Sta. Cruz, Manila, where a total of 1,766 families from Barangays 323, 339, and 340 are the recipients.

Around 899 families from Barangay 458 will also receive the boxes on Earnshaw corner Sulucan Streets in Sampaloc, Manila at 4 p.m.

The next schedules and locations for the Christmas gift distribution are as follows:

 

Dec. 2

  • 7:30 a.m. at Cabildo Street (between Victoria and Potenciano Streets) in Intramuros, Manila
  • 9 a.m. at the Sarmiento covered court in Sta. Mesa, Manila
  • 3 p.m. at Barangay 37, covered court, Katatagan Street in Tondo, Manila
  • 4 p.m. at the Laguna Extension of Gagalangin Tondo.

 

Dec. 3

  • 7:30 a.m.  at Marcela Elementary School in San Nicolas, Manila
  • 9 a.m. at Quintos Street (between Simoun and Calamba Streets) in Sampaloc, Manila
  • 3 p.m. at Cristobal Street (back of Unilever) in Paco
  • 4 p.m. at Old Panaderos Street in Sta. Ana, Manila. 

 

Dec. 4

  • 7:30 a.m. at Barangay 60 Penalosa, corner of Juan Luna Streets in Tondo
  • 9 a.m. at the Dagupan extension corner of Hermosa Street in Tondo
  • 3 p.m. at Nepomuceno Street in Quiapo
  • 4 p.m. at the Arellano corner of Cristobal Streets in Sampaloc.

 

Dec. 5

  • 7:30 a.m. at Ortega Court in Malate, Manila
  • 9 a.m. at the Tenement Basketball Court in Sta. Ana, Manila
  • 3 p.m. at Barangay 111 covered court (Osmena Street) in Tondo
  • 4 p.m. at Barangay 198 covered court in Tondo. 

 

Dec. 6

  • 7:30 a.m. at Carlo Palanca Street in Quiapo
  • 9 a.m. at Bohol Street (between Visayan and Luzon Streets) in Sampaloc
  • 3 p.m. at the Liwayway corner of Sampaguita Streets in Malate
  • 4 p.m. in front of Barangay 832 Hall (Mendiola extension, Otis) in Sta. Ana. 

 

Dec. 7  

  • 7:30 a.m. in Barangay 102 overed court in Tondo
  • 9 a.m. at Severino Reyes Street in Tondo
  • 3 p.m. at the Dos Castillas corner of Aragon Street in Quiapo
  • 4 p.m. at Piy Margal Street (between Algeciras and Cristobal Streets) in Sampaloc.

 

Dec. 8

  • 7:30 a.m. in the 7th Street corner of 4th Street in Malate
  • 9 a.m. at Barangay 851 basketball court in Sta. Ana
  • 3 p.m. at Barangay 129 covered court in Tondo
  • 4 p.m. at Solis Street in Tondo. 

 

Dec. 9

  • 7:30 a.m. at Barangay 348 Hall (Oroqueta Street) in Sta. Cruz
  • 9 a.m. at Blumentritt Street (between Sobriedad Street and Fajardo Extension) in Sampaloc
  • 3 p.m. at A. Roxas corner of Mercedes Streets in Malate
  • 4 p.m. at Plaza Hugo in Sta. Ana. 

 

Dec. 10

  • 7:30 a.m. at Barangay 51 covered court in Tondo
  • 9 a.m. at Katamanan Street in Tondo
  • 3 p.m. at Barangay 310 covered court in Sta. Cruz 
  • 4 p.m. at Firmeza Street (between Antipolo and Vicente Cruz Streets) in Sampaloc. 

 

Dec. 11

  • 7:30 a.m. at Belen Street in Paco
  • 9 a.m. at the Central Basketball Court in Pandacan.

 

The distribution of gift boxes on Dec. 12 will start at 5 a.m. in Parola to over 5,617 families from Barangays 1 and 3.
