CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – The Police Regional Office 4-A seized 263 assorted firearms during the implementation of the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections gun ban in the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon area.
PRO 4-A Director Police Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas said these guns were confiscated in 381 operations from August 28 to November 29, along with firearms replicas and unknown weapons and 116 bladed weapons and 11 explosives.
Lucas said that because of collaborative efforts extended beyond firearm-related concerns, 1,346 other items were also seized during operations, highlighting the depth and effectiveness of security measures in place.
"This comprehensive approach played a pivotal role in ensuring the overall safety and success of the electoral process," Lucas added.
He also said that they nabbed 398 individuals involved in various election-related offenses and 324 cases were filed in courts against them.
Lucas thanked partner-agencies and the public for making the elections peaceful.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa inyong lahat na aming nakasama sa layuning ito. Naging matagumpay tayo dahil sa ating ‘Serbisyong Nagkakaisa.’ Hindi namin magagawa ito kung hindi dahil sa inyong pakikipagtulungan at suporta," he added.
