Mother, son killed in Parañaque blaze

A mother and her son died when they were trapped inside their burning house in Parañaque City, on Thursday, Nov. 9.

Supt. Eduardo Loon, Parañaque City Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) Marshal, said the victims were identified as a certain Salud, 62, and her son Bryan,42.

Reports showed the incident happened along Canaynay Avenue, Bernabe Phase 3, Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City.

The BFP said the fire started at the second floor of the house being occupied by Salud at around 12:36 a.m. and reached the third alarm.  

The fire immediately spread to nearby 20 house affecting 40 families.

The victims were reportedly found near the door at the ground floor of their house.

Loon said the fire destroyed houses that were made of light materials.

The BFP placed the damage caused by the fire at P75,000.

The fire was placed under control a around 1:56 a.m. and declared fire out at 3:00 a.m.    

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
