Marcos names special trade envoy to SoKor, PCGG commissioner

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) has announced the names of new appointees in the Marcos administration, including a new Special Envoy to South Korea for Trade and Investments and a new commissioner at the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG).

In a Facebook post, the PCO listed Bryan Lim as Marcos' special envoy to the Republic of Korea for Trade and Investment.

In a report by the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ), Lim supposedly donated P20 million in cash to Marcos' presidential campaign in 2022.

The report said Lim is the vice president for business development of Suyen Corp., the company behind the clothing line Bench.

Lim's Suyen Corp. has interests in food, furniture, and real estate. In 2019, it signed a memorandum of agreement with Global Gateway Development Corp., a subsidiary of Dennis Uy's Udenna Group, for the sublease of a part of the latter's property in the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga.

Meanwhile, President Marcos named the former Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Traffic Operations Chief Angelito Vergel de Dios as the new PCGG commissioner.

The PCGG is a quasi-judicial government agency whose primary mandate is to recover the ill-gotten wealth supposedly accumulated by the late former president Ferdinand Marcos.

President Marcos also appointed Julius Neri Jr. as the general manager and chief executive officer of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority.

In addition, Marcos appointed new foreign service officers at the Department of Foreign Affairs, namely:
