The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday, Nov. 9 said the low pressure area (LPA) that formed over the Sulu Sea has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone.

In the PAGASA’s live forecast, weather specialist Patrick del Mundo said the LPA, which was estimated 395 kilometers west-southwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, may exit the country’s area of responsibility within the day.
However, he said the weather disturbance may continue to bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Palawan.
Del Mundo warned that flash floods or landslides may occur in the event of moderate to heavy rainfall.
Meanwhile, Batanes and Cagayan, including Babuyan Islands, may experience cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan.”
PAGASA said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean.
The public is also warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
