Boulder crushes man to death in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A huge boulder rolled on the side of a hill and crushed a farmer to death in an incident described as a freak accident in Pamucutan, Zamboanga City on Wednesday, November 8.

The victim, Erwin Ituralde Salvador, and his two sons went to a sunflower farm on Wednesday night and fell asleep on the side of a hill.

At around 2 a.m., Salvador’s sons were awakened by a loud rolling sound and were soon shocked to see a boulder on top of their father's body.

The victim died on the spot when the boulder rolled on top of him and crushed his head and a part of his body.

His family rushed to the area and helped one another in extricating his body.
