16 PH universities rank in 2024 QS Asia University Rankings

Ten Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and six State Colleges and Universities (SUCs) were on the list of the 2024 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Rankings.

Based on results released by QS on Nov. 8, a total of 16 universities in the Philippines were among 856 institutions from 25 countries and territories that made it to the roster.

Among the Philippine universities included in the list were the "Big Four": University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) ranked 78th; Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) ranked 137th; De La Salle University (DLSU) rank154th; and University of Santo Tomas (UST) ranked 179th.

Meanwhile, there were universities in the Philippines included in the list for the first time: the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) ranked 551st to 600th; the University of San Carlos ranked 551st to 600th; Far Eastern University (FEU) ranked 701st to 750th; and Mindanao State University which made it to rank 801.

Other universities that made it again to the list were Adamson University ranked 551 to 600; Mapua University and Silliman University ranked 601 to 650; Ateneo de Davao University in the top 651 to 700; Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology ranked 701st to 750th; Saint Louis University at rank 751 to 800; Xavier University and Lyceum of the Philippines University at 801+ rank.

Since 2009, the QS World University Rankings have been assessing different universities in terms of academic reputation and employment outcomes.
