The MOA signing aimed to provide social security protection to some 162 PPA and 20 BOC job order personnel.
Rolando Macasaet, SSS President and Chief Executive Officer, said that the job order workers who will join the SSS shall receive seven benefits that every SSS member is entitled – maternity, sickness, disability, unemployment, pension, survivor pension, and death benefits.
Macasaet said the agreement aims to provide social security services to these job order workers during their senior years.
“So if they get old they will be given dignity. Hindi ‘yun pagala-gala lang sila na umaasa sa kanilang mga anak at pamilya,” Macasaet said.
A stakeholder’s forum and press briefing were held after the MOA signing to clarify issues relative to SSS benefits and other programs.
Macasaet was joined by Social Security Commissioner Robert Joseph de Claro, EVP Voltaire Agas, EVP Rizaldy Capulong, Customs Region 9 acting chief for administration Leilisa Gaceta, PPA-PMO Administration Division Manager Francisca Clarissa Dagoy, and other SSS officials.
