Speaker Romualdez named caretaker of late Hagedorn's district

House Speaker and Leyte 1st district Rep. Martin Romualdez has been installed as the legislative caretaker of Palawan's 3rd district.
Zamboanga Sibugay 1st district Rep. Wilter Palma made the motion to designate Romualdez during plenary session Wednesday, Nov. 8.
"In the interest of the people of the 3rd district of Palawan I move to designate Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez as the legislative caretaker of Palawan," Palma said.
The presiding officer at the time, Deputy Speaker Antipolo City 1st district Rep. Roberto Puno, promptly carried the motion after nobody objected from the floor.

Palawan's 3rd district seat became vacant following the death of Rep. Edward Hagedorn last Oct. 3. He died from a lingering illness.
Romualdez is also currently the legislative caretaker of Negros Oriental's 3rd district.
The last solon to hold that seat, Arnolfo Teves Jr., was expelled from the House of Representatives last Aug, 16.
