Rains to persist in most of PH due to easterlies, shear line, 'amihan'
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical and Services Administration (PAGASA) on Wednesday, Nov. 8 said the easterlies, shear line, and northeast monsoon will continue to affect most of the country.

PAGASA said Bicol Region, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies—the warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will also be experienced in mainland Cagayan, Isabela and Aurora because of the shear line—an area where the cold northeasterly winds and warm easterly winds converge.
PAGASA said possible flash floods or landslides may occur in the affected areas due to moderate to heavy rains.
Cloudy skies with rains are expected in Batanes and Babuyan Islands, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are expected in Ilocos Norte and Apayao, due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan.”
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
The public is also warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. (Lizst Torres Abello)
