Police Col. Elmer Lim, chief of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, said that 2.6 kilos of shabu and marijuana were confiscated in 13 anti-illegal drug operations and five high-value individuals and eight street-level drug pushers were arrested.
Seized were 1.6 kilos of shabu worth at least P11 million and 1.1 kilos of marijuana valued at P136,000.
The series of operations were conducted by the City Anti-Drug Unit, City Intelligence Unit, and the five city police stations.
Lim said the anti-illegal drug campaign did not let up even if they were busy securing the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections. He said the elections in the city’s 30 barangays were generally peaceful.
