Marcus Nitura said he drew inspiration from his "idol" Scottie Thompson after filling up the stat sheet in Perpetual's 81-74 win on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

Showing he can do what Thompson has been pouring out from the collegiate to the pro ranks, Nitura scattered 13 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, and five steals to compliment Christian Pagaran's 21-point output in the hard-earned win.
With Thompson on the Altas sidelines as an assistant coach, Nitura knew he should do everything to help his team.
"Talagang trabaho lang din ako pero kasi nag-usap kami ni (Scottie Thompson) at sabi niya nakikita niya raw 'yung sarili nya sa akin," Nitura said.
"Oo idol ko siya kasi ang sipag eh," he added.
The Altas are now in a crucial spot in the standings at seventh spot with a 6-7 record after sealing their second consecutive win.
Spearheaded by graduating player Jielo Razon alongside a supporting cast of Pagaran and Mark Omega, Perpetual aims to push hard for a spot in the Final Four.
UPHSD head coach Myk Saguiguit believes that any of his players can produce great outings at any given time.
"Actually ‘yung team naman namin any given day talagang anybody can be anybody on our team," Saguiguit stressed.
"Kung wala ‘yung Razon at Roque sa scoring, meron naman Nitura." he added.
