Makati City Mayor Abby Binay, together with her husband, Makati City 2nd District Rep. Luis Campos, spearheaded the distribution where she underscored the importance of teachers in molding the future generation and her gratefulness for their dedication and love for teaching.
Each physical wellness kit contains a gym bag, jogging pants, jacket, rubber shoes, socks, tumbler, and a smartwatch.
The mayor added all Makatizen teachers, including those working at EMBO schools, will receive their own wellness kits.
The city government has since been recognizing the efforts and dedication of its teachers by providing them with services and various kits yearly that aid them not just in performing their duties and responsibilities as teachers, but also help them in their personal lives.
In 2018, the city government launched free medical and social services to its educators. It then provided its 2019 Teacher's Kit which contains a bluetooth speaker, wireless presenter, tumbler, teacher's plan, students data record, first aid kit, Makatizen pouch with school supplies, notepad, 64GB flashdrive, voice amplifier, laptop bag, and a Makatizen jacket.
The Binay administration also gave laptops and WiFi modems with data load allowance to teachers in 2020.
During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the city government gave away the 2021 Digital Teacher's Kit which included a jacket, boom mic, numeric keypad, mini tripod, ring light, external sound card, backpack with UV sterilizer, tumbler holder, pen tablet, and Sodexo Premium Pass GC.
Makati City officials also distributed the 2022 Teacher's Kit which contained a health and wellness planner, P1,500 GC for groceries, P700 GC for makeover, and P500 gift certificate for healthy food and drinks.
