K-pop boy band EPEX made significant achievements through their new album “Prelude of Anxiety Chapter 2: Can We Surrender?”

The album is the final chapter of their Bipolar album series, which began with EPEX’s debut in 2021 and delves on the dark and uneasy realities that boys face when they reach the end of their limits.

“Prelude of Anxiety Chapter 2: Can We Surrender?” includes four new songs, all composed and arranged by KZ who has been working with EPEX throughout the members careers.

The main track “Full Metal Jacket” expresses the range of EPEX’s artistry while also serving as a metaphor about the danger of violence and the loss of humanity.

“Surrender” is about putting an end to oppression through groovy electronic bass and powerful drums while “Hit the Wall'' is an EDM track mixed with hip-hop that delves into the efforts that young people make to set their own standards while trying to overcome challenges in their way.

“No Roof” has a funky bass and synth sound, empowering the listeners to believe in themselves no matter what.

In an interview with Manila Bulletin and other media outlets, EPEX talked about the album and their career.

“Prelude of Anxiety Chapter 2: Can We Surrender?” sold a total of 240,963 copies in the first week of release, according to Korea’s Hanteo Chart. This is EPEX’s highest first-week sales since debut and the members were very happy with the results.

“By looking at the numbers, it's clear that we've made significant progress and improvement, which fills us with pride. Thanks to our fans and other people who have sent a lot of love to this album, we're able to show our improvements and share our music with even more people,” said Keum.

On what they want to achieve through their new album, Jeff said, “I would like to let people know more about a mature version of EPEX.”

Ayden added, “As this album sends the message to stop school violence, I hope more people become aware of this issue.”

“Our stage energy is highly intense, and I hope our fans absorb that energy while we, in turn, receive their energy. Through this exchange, I hope we can become even closer and more intimate with our fans,” said A-Min.

EPEX members said their maturity grows for every comeback that they do.

“I would say that with every comeback, we've matured approximately 35.6 times more,” said Mu.

Yewang said, “With every new song and comeback, I believe that all the members achieve what they had in mind during their previous promotions.”

EPEX made their debut in June 2021 with members Keum, Wish, Mu, A-Min, Jeff, Yewang, Baekseung, Ayden.

On their biggest strength and charm, Keum said, “Our visuals.”

“I personally believe it's the friendly atmosphere we create as a team and the unique music style and performance that only EPEX can deliver,” said Baekseung.

Mu said, “I'm convinced that the charms we possess as a group are unique to us and cannot be found in any other.”

Wish said they are eager to hold an Asia tour if given the chance.

“Although we don't have concrete plans at the moment, we are very eager to embark on an Asia tour when the opportunity arises,” he said.
