State-owned Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) invited two Italian businesses to set up or expand their operations in New Clark City.

The BCDA delegation urged Italy’s top business associations, Confindustria and The European House Ambrosetti, to take an interest in investing in Clark developments.

During a BCDA-led outbound investment promotion mission in Rome Italy, Larry Paredes, BCDA Director paid a visit to Nathaniel G. Imperial, the Philippine Ambassador to Italy.

According to Imperial, the Philippines is an ideal investment hub for Italian businesspeople, and their support to the BCDA could boost the development projects in New Clark City, Tarlac.

The BCDA delegates believe that pitching the Clark developments to the two Italian associations is an ideal collaboration so that they can implement Rome’s operations and management in building facilities in the Philippines.

Confindustria, one of the invited businesses, is Italy’s main association for manufacturing and service companies.

The company has a voluntary membership of over 150,000 firms.

Meanwhile, the European House Ambrosetti is the leading Italian management consulting company backed by a series of strategic alliances as well as an external network of worldwide renowned advisors.

Leilani Barlongay-Macasaet, BCDA Vice President for Public Affairs presented the comprehensive plans for New Clark City, Clark Freeport Zone, and Clark International Airport to Italian investors and financial institutions in Rome.

“BCDA’s flagship project, New Clark City, offers investment opportunities in manufacturing, logistics, agri-industrial, property development, and renewable energy, among others,” she explained.

Macasaet also highlighted the potential collaboration efforts in the public-private partnerships that could further develop the projects in Clark.

The VP also pitched the development projects during the meeting, such as the 100-hectare mixed-use Clark Central Business District located in Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga.

Along with that were the 35-hectare affordable residential complex in New Clark City, Tarlac, the 22-hectare Clark International Convention and Exhibition Complex in New Clark City.

The Common ICT Infrastructure, and data center colocation facility in New Clark City was also mentioned during the meeting, as the development authority currently seeks investors for the construction.

The BCDA also said they wanted to study the operations that helped Rome in constructing its sports facility.

This included a tour of Rome’s largest sports facility, Stadio Olimpico, which the BCDA hopes to implement in New Clark City Athletics Stadium and other sports facilities. (Gabriell Christel Galang)
