Duterte said this after he was linked to an alleged destabilization plot against his successor.

In his program at SMNI, the former president said ouster plots have always been historically linked with corruption but claimed that Marcos was not corrupt.

"Marcos, wala akong masasabi. I would not say he is corrupt, pero siya lang (I cannot say anything about Marcos. I would not say he is corrupt, but that's only him)," he said.

"I cannot make any categorical statement for the others," he added.

"Historically dito, it's always corruption, abuse of authority, uncontrolled mga abuses na hindi talaga napipigilan (that couldn't be stopped)," he continued.

According to Duterte, Marcos should identify which agencies are problematic to prevent any forceful overthrowing of his government.

"The President should know because he has at his disposal every information that he can use to counter the threats to democracy," he said.

"So walang problema 'yan. Marcos should know kung saan ang mga weak points, especially corruption. Doon siya magko-concentrate (So there's no problem with that. Marcos should know where the weak points are, especially with corruption. He should concentrate on that)," he added.

Duterte advised his successor to seek the help of the military to do this.

"There's always the military, mautusan niya na (he can order them to) kindly-- because upon his orders, the military can always intervene," he added.
