ARTA Legal Summit on Oct. 11 to boost ease of doing business

The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) will hold its Legal Summit on Oct. 11 to boost its efforts in ensuring the ease of doing business (EODB) in the country.

In a Facebook post, the ARTA said its Legal Summit, with the theme "Scaling-Up Partnership Efforts Against Red Tape (SPEAR) 2023," will be held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) on Wednesday.
It said the Summit aimed to boost its campaign against red tape nationwide.
"This aims to provide an avenue to consolidate the partnerships and collaborative initiatives and efforts of the ARTA Legal Group along with the performance of its functions and mandates," it wrote.
"The Legal Summit is essential to effectively cascade ARTA's programs and initiatives, specifically on legal matters," it added.
According to ARTA, the Legal Summit comes as an avenue to consolidate all the ARTA Legal Group's partnerships and collaborative initiatives and efforts to enhance the Authority's coordination strategies with national government agencies (NGAs), local government units (LGUs), government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs), state universities and colleges (SUCs), law enforcement agencies (LEAs), and private sector stakeholders on implementing its reform initiatives under the EODB Law.
The topics to be covered include the following:
- Salient Features of EODB Law and its Implementing Rules and Regulations
- Salient Features of the Revised Rules of Procedure (RROP)
- Best Practices and Initiatives of Law Enforcement Agencies
- Challenges and Hurdles
- Responsibilities of ARTA Champions
During the Summit, the ARTA said the participants will be able to witness the media launch of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between 8888 Office of the President (OP) and the ceremonial signing of the MOA between the Department of Justice (DOJ) and ARTA.
They can also gain knowledge of ARTA's Revised Rules of Procedures (RROP) on handling and managing formal complaints, acquire ideas on best practices and initiatives among partner implementers, and be oriented on the guidelines of ARTA Champion.
