President Marcos has ordered government agencies and response clusters to address the "lingering issues" caused by the devastating super typhoon Yolanda 10 years after its onslaught.

Marcos tasked the Yolanda response clusters “to work closely with concerned local governments to address the lingering issues of the different affected communities.”
He also ordered the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the National Housing Authority (NHA) to fast track the provision of housing units and land titles to beneficiaries.
"[T]he work is not done, there are still many who continue to await our assistance," Marcos said in his speech during the 10th year commemoration of Yolanda held in Tacloban City on Wednesday, Nov. 8.
"So, we have engaged the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development and the National Housing Authority to accelerate the provision of housing units and land titles to our beneficiaries," he added.
"And I also urge the Yolanda Response Clusters to work closely with concerned local governments to address the lingering issues of the different affected communities," he further said.
The President urged both the local and national governments to "continue to work hard" to provide the victims of Yolanda with the tools and the resources to rebuild their lives.
He also assured the people of Tacloban that "the government is always striving to ensure that such tragedies of this magnitude will be avoided and will be adapted to."
The Chief Executive also called on the citizenry to partner with the government in bolstering the country’s disaster preparedness, recovery, and resiliency "so that we can overcome whatever storms we will face."
In his speech, he recognized Tacloban’s disaster risk reduction and management efforts through the creation of contingency, public service and disaster response plans both at the barangay and city levels.
“Your endeavors to establish emergency evacuation SOPs (standard operating procedures) and emergency response teams are noteworthy and serve as examples for other local governments around the country. Equally important is your collective action to protect and rehabilitate your communities through reforestation, river embankment and stabilization, and other environmental conservation programs,” Marcos said.
Marcos also extended his gratitude to the international community for extending their assistance to the Filipino people and the victims of super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan), especially for the rehabilitation of Tacloban City.
Marcos visited Tacloban City for the 10th Yolanda commemoration anniversary where he also led the wreath laying ceremony at the Yolanda Memorial Monument and remembered the casualties of the super-typhoon.
