2 minors drown in Pangasinan beach

BINMALEY, Pangasinan – Two minors drowned while swimming on the Binmaley Beach in Barangay Baybay Lopez here on Sunday, October 8.

Police identified the victims as Charisse Pensona Marcillos, 13, and Gladys Abegail Sarol Ballesteros, 16, residents of Barangay Patayac, Santa Barbara, Pangasinan.

Witness Fe Almario Ballesteros, 71, said she saw her granddaughters being carried away by strong waves.

Their companion, Jonathan Nevado, tried to save the victims but failed due to rip current.

The Bantay Dagat of Binmaley rescued the two minors and taken to the Lingayen District Hospital in Lingayen, this province, where they were declared dead.
