The Philippine government is repatriating the first batch of Filipinos from the West Bank, a Palestinian territory separated from Gaza, after two Filipinos already crossed to Jordan.
Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary Eduardo Jose de Vega said the two Filipinos will leave the Jordanian capital of Amman on Wednesday and will arrive in Manila at night.
The repatriation came as fear of hostilities also arose in the West Bank due to Israel-Hamas war in Gaza that already left at least 10,000 people dead in the enclave.
As conflict also started spreading in neighboring countries, such as in Lebanon where Hamas-sympathizers, Hezbollah, have bases, about 184 Filipinos there have also been evacuated by the Philippine government.
A total of 21 Filipino repatriates who are already in Beirut are set to leave on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, from Israel, the fourth batch of repatriates composed of 42 Filipinos will arrive in Manila Tuesday.
On the same day, 39 Filipinos in Gaza will be crossing to Egypt, where they will stay for several days before flying to the Philippines.
"We'd like to say that thanks to our partners, thanks to the work of our embassies, [they] will be able to cross," de Vega said.
