SANTA ROSA CITY, Laguna – A seven-year-old girl died in a fire in Barangay Caingin here on Monday, November 6.
The fatality was identified as Princess Olivar.
Arson investigators said the fire started at 1:45 p.m. and more than 100 houses were razed. Fire out was declared at 3:56 p.m.
The Bureau of Fire Protection here said 130 families or 462 persons were sheltered at the elementary school covered court.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD)-Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) turned over on Tuesday, November 7, malongs and hygiene kits to the city government for the fire victims.
The city government thanked the OCD-Calabarzon for the assistance and assured that they will provide necessary goods and interventions for the affected residents.
The BFP has yet to determine the cause of the fire and damage to property.
