G-Dragon questioned by police for 4 hours; negative in simple drug test

K-pop group Big Bang’s G-Dragon underwent police questioning for four hours in connection with suspicion of drug use. 

On Nov. 6, G-Dragon went to the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency’s drug crime investigation office to answer questions. He was earlier booked by the police on suspicion of drug use.

Speaking before the media, G-Dragon reiterated that he did not use illegal drugs. 

“There are no drug-related crimes. I came here to reveal that,” he said, Korean media reported. 

G-Dragon entered the police station at about 1:23 p.m. KST and came out at about 5:20 p.m. 

He revealed that he tested negative in a simple reagent test. 

"I received a negative result. We have urgently requested a detailed test. I think it would be good if the investigative agency would quickly and accurately report the results,” he said, adding that he submitted his hair sample. 

On submitting his cell phone to the police, he said, "If there is a need to submit it in the future, I will do so."

About the police investigation, G-Dragon said, "I don't think it's unreasonable. The police probably didn't have a personal grudge, but they did their job due to the nature of their job based on someone's statement." 

“Anyway, this is an investigation to prove that I have nothing to do with drug crimes, so I don’t think it’s unreasonable, but I hope they will do it in a positive way,” he said.

“I hope the investigative agency will announce the results of the detailed examination,” he said.

About the public, he said, "Many people are watching. I hope you don't worry too much. I hope you trust and wait for me."

The Incheon police are investigating drug use on 10 people including G-Dragon and “Parasite” film star Lee Sun-kyun.
