E-bike driver yields P6.8-M shabu in Cebu City

CEBU CITY – A 23-year-old e-bike driver was arrested and one kilo of suspected shabu worth P6.8 million was seized in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sambag 1 here on Monday afternoon, November 6.

The suspect was identified as Jay Bard Abaquita, a resident of Barangay Suba here.

Leia Alcantara, information officer of the Philippine Drug Agency-Central Visayas, said Abaquita was known as an e-bike driver in the barangay but it turned out he was not only transporting passengers but was also into illegal drug peddling.

Based on the information that the PDEA-7 received, the suspect was selling 500 grams to one kilo of shabu a week, said Alcantara.

Charges for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect, Alcantara added.
