Cebu Pacific (CEB) received its 13th aircraft delivery this year with the new sustainable aviation fuel (SAF)-powered Airbus A320neo to support its expansion of commercial carriers amid booming air travel demands.

The new aircraft entered into service on Nov. 1, arriving from Airbus' facility in Tianjin, China to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Oct. 25.
CEB Chief Strategy Officer Alex Reyes said the new aircraft support their goal to ensure reliable operations, as well as safe and affordable air travel for passengers.
By the end of the year, the airline expects to complete deliveries of six more aircrafts, totalling 19 new carriers for 2023.
Overall, CEB has the widest network coverage in the country with its mixed fleet of 74 aircrafts, comprising of six Airbus 330, 33 Airbus 320, 19 airbus 321, and 16 ATR turboprop aircrafts.
Through its partnership with global SAF-producer Neste, CEB aims to incorporate SAF in its commercial flights by 2030 and, while achieving an all-New Engine Option (NEO) fleet by 2028.
To recall, the airline signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Neste to supply and purchase SAF in the Asia Pacific region. SAF will help CEB reach its reduced carbon emissions targets by up to 80 percent, compared to the use of traditional fuel sources.
"Our ongoing investment in SAF is also a crucial step for our decarbonization efforts, paving the way for a more sustainable future in air travel,” added Reyes.
