LUCBAN, Quezon – A 56-year-old farmer died after he was gored by his carabao in his farm in Sitio Burol, Barangay Tinamnan, this town, on Monday, November 6.
Police Major Marnie Abellanida, Lucban police chief, identified the victim as Simplicio de las Alas, single.
Investigation said Severino, 61, the victim’s elder brother, arrived in Simplicio’s farm to ask him to go home as it was already nighttime.
However, Severino found him lying wounded adjacent to his carabao.
Severino saw bloodstains on the horn of the carabao and believed that his brother was attacked by the beast of burden.
He reported his grim discovery to the police who conducted an investigation and found no signs of foul play that might have caused the victim’s death.
The municipal health officer said the victim was wounded by the carabao’s horn and died from his injuries.
