CEBU CITY – Grave threat and attempted homicide charges have been filed against four persons who allegedly pointed guns and harassed people on October 29, the night before the October 30 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections in Barangay Tapon, Dumanjug town, southern Cebu.
One of those suspects was killed in an encounter with the police in Barangay Kolabtingon, Dumanjug on Sunday, November 5. The fatality was identified as Godofredo Mansanadez.
A .45 caliber pistol and a hand grenade were recovered from the man’s possession, said Police Col. Percival Zorilla, chief of the Cebu Police Provincial Office.
The gun-toting incident was captured on video which was was posted on Facebook.
Mansanadez was the person who was seen in the video carrying a .357 revolver.
Also charged was an elected barangay official, whose identity was withheld by the police.
Zorilla said further investigation will be conducted to check reports that Mansanadez was involved in gun-for-hire activities.
