The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday, Nov. 6, that 895 new Covid-19 infections were recorded from Oct. 30 to Nov. 5.

It noted that these cases showed an 18 percent "decrease" with an average daily count of 128 cases compared to the previous week from Oct. 23 to 29.
Based on the latest data, 12 of the newly reported cases have been classified as "severe” or “critical.”
The DOH, however, showed no additional Covid-19-related deaths occurred between Oct. 23 and Nov. 5.
It was also stated that hospitals across the Philippines had admitted a total of 276 severe and critical Covid-19 patients for treatment.
Of the 1,444 ICU beds designated for Covid-19 patients, 178 of them, or 12.3 percent, are currently occupied.
DOH also noted that 2,182 out of 12,348 non-ICU Covid-19 beds, constituting 17.7 percent, are also in use.
The department urged the public to remain vigilant in the face of the ongoing Covid-19 threat, emphasizing the importance of adhering to public health standards, such as wearing masks, seeking well-ventilated areas, and isolating immediately if symptomatic under Alert Level 1.
Moreover, DOH reported that approximately 78 million people in the country had received Covid-19 vaccinations, exceeding the target population by 100.44 percent. (Zekinah Elize Espina)
