Mayor Sandoval leads oath-taking of 336 BSKE winners in Malabon


Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval led the mass oath-taking of 336 newly elected Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials in the city on Monday, Nov. 6.

The mass oath-taking of the new officials from 21 barangays in Malabon was held at the Malabon Sports Complex.

The Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections winners pledged to fulfill their duties and assured that they would not use their positions for personal gain.

They also committed to combat corruption and to truthfully report any breaches of their responsibilities to the authorities.

Sandoval stated that the newly elected barangay and SK officials have a huge role in the  community.

“Tayo ay may mahalagang papel sa pagpapabuti ng buhay ng ating mga mamamayan at sa pag-unlad ng ating komunidad (We have an important role in improving the lives of our people and in the development of our community),” she said.

“Ang ating dedikasyon, integridad, at serbisyong may malasakit ay mahalaga upang mapanatili ang kaginhawaan at progreso ng ating lungsod (Our dedication, integrity, and service with compassion are essential in maintaining the prosperity and progress of our city),” she added.

The city mayor said the mass oath-taking for the newly elected barangay and SK officials may inspire the people to continue serving, working with honors, and setting an example for others.

“Kaya’t nawa’y patuloy tayong maging inspirasyon sa isa’t isa na magtrabaho nang may puso, kagandahang loob, at malasakit (Therefore, may we continue to inspire each other to work with heart, kindness, and compassion),” Sandoval stated.

She also added that under the flag, they have the responsibility to one another and to the community.

“Palagi nating tandaan na sa likod ng ating mga gawain bilang lingkod bayan may mga pamilya at indibidwal na umaasa sa atin, ang ating dedikasyon at integridad sa trabaho ay may kalakip na responsibilidad na maitaguyod ang kapakanan ng ating mga kababayan (Let us always remember that behind our duties as public servants, there are families and individuals relying on us. Our dedication and integrity in our work come with the responsibility of promoting the welfare of our fellow citizens),” she said.

Sandoval also congratulated the elected villaged officials and assured them of complete support from the city government.

“Sa kakatapos lang ng ating Barangay elections, Congratulations sa ating mga barangay chairman, mga kagawad, sa mga SK Chairman, sa ating SK kagawad. Sa ating panahon sabay-sabay tayo, walang maiiwan, Malabon Ahon! (With the recently concluded Barangay elections, congratulations to our barangay chairpersons, council members, SK chairpersons, and SK council members. In our time, let's work together, leaving no one behind. Malabon Move Up!),” she said.

According to Memorandum Circular No. 2023-166 issued by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), newly elected barangay and SK officials are allowed to "promptly and effectively assume their positions" as soon as they have been proclaimed, sworn into office, and submitted their Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCEs).
