Guadiz expresses gratitude to PBBM for his reinstatement as LTFRB chair
Lawyer Teofilo Guadiz III has expressed gratitude to President Marcos for reinstating him as chairperson of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) following his suspension over corruption allegations that were later recanted by his accuser.
In a statement, Guadiz said he will continuously pursue integrity and transparency in the agency, as well as pursuing programs to assist the transport sector.
“I am truly honored and humbled by the trust and confidence that President Marcos has placed in me to continue serving our nation in this capacity. I pledge to uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and efficiency in leading the LTFRB,” said Guadiz.
“ We will work tirelessly to address the pressing issues and challenges in the transportation sector, striving to improve the lives of the Filipino people by providing safe, reliable, and accessible public transportation services,” he added.
Marcos suspended Guadiz last month over corruption allegations in securing franchise for modern jeepneys which was raised by the latter’s former aide.
Guadiz repeatedly denied the allegation. His accuser later recanted the statement in an affidavit submitted to the court.
Malacañang earlier lifted the suspension on Guadiz while Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista reinstated him at the LTFRB effective Monday, Nov. 6.
Guadiz has committed to do more in the LTFRB after learning of his reinstatement.
“Under the leadership of President Marcos, we look forward to contributing to the administration's vision of progress and prosperity for the Philippines. I am committed to working closely with our dedicated team at the LTFRB and other stakeholders to achieve our common goals,” said Guadiz.
