QC solon proud of party-mate Romualdez's high satisfaction rating

Quezon City 4th district Rep. Marvin Rillo can't help but feel proud for having a party president and House Speaker who is lighting up the surveys.

Rillo became the latest House member to congratulate Speaker Martin Romualdez over the weekend for the latter’s high performance satisfaction rating in the OCTA Research 2023 third quarter survey.

“We offer our congratulations to the Speaker, who is clearly providing highly effective political leadership to the House of Representatives in a manner that best responds to public interest,” Rillo said in a statement.

“We are proud to be a member of the House and the Lakas political party that the Speaker leads concurrently,” added the rookie congressman in the current 19th Congress.

Romualdez is also president of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD), the biggest political party in the House with 73 members.

Rillo said he is grateful for the strong support that Romualdez has been providing to congressional districts across the country “in terms of enabling highly improved public access to social services for disadvantaged, distressed and vulnerable families".

Conducted between Sept. 30 and Oct. 4, the survey showed that 61 percent of Filipinos were satisfied with Romualdez’s performance on the job. This is a six percentage point surge from his 55 percent score last July.

This is a historically high figure for the position of House Speaker, which is the fourth-highest official of the government, after the President, Vice President, and the Senate President.

In the same OCTA Research poll, some 58 percent of Filipinos expressed satisfaction with Senate President Juan Miguel "Migz" Zubiri’s job performance, slightly up from 57 percent in July.
