The Gilas Pilipinas Asian Games team was feted for its gold medal run in the Asiad, highlighting the PBA Season 48 opening at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, Nov. 5.
Members of the team led by Gilas team manager Alfrancis Chua, deputy team manager and PBA commissioner Willie Marcial were presented with a plaque of commemoration before PBA chairman Ricky Vargas formally opened the brand new season of the league.
All the players except Justin Brownlee were also present on the stage alongside Gilas head coach Tim Cone and his staff and SEA Games gold medalists Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser and Christian Standhardinger.
Gilas also had a parade around the Big Dome before the start of the programme that also featured the beautiful muses of each of the 12 teams of the PBA.
Celebrities, influencers and sports personalities composed this year’s batch of ladies led by singer and actress Julie Anne San Jose representing Magnolia.
Other muses include actresses Heaven Peralejo for Barangay Ginebra, Franki Russell for San Miguel, Yukii Takahashi for Phoenix, and Herlene Budol for Blackwater.
Converge has influencer and content creator Yskaela Yaena Fujimoto while Meralco has SEA Games gold medalist Kaizen Dela Cerna, and NLEX has PVL star Vanie Gandler.
Atasha Muhlach represented TNT, Angel Santos for NorthPort and Mary Jane Encabo and Jennelle Noblezada.
