Councilor, Rep. Fresnedi's son among winners in BSKE in Muntinlupa
A Muntinlupa councilor and the son of Rep. Jaime Fresnedi are among the winners in the Oct. 30 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) in Muntinlupa.
Councilor Luvi Constantino won as the barangay chairperson of Barangay Cupang. She won as councilor in the May 2022 elections and is representing Muntinlupa’s District 2 in the Muntinlupa City Council.

Meanwhile, Fresnedi’s son, Jose Mari “Joma” Fresnedi, won a seat in the Sangguniang Barangay of Barangay Tunasan in District 1.
Rep. Fresnedi congratulated all the winners in the elections including his son.
“I congratulate all the newly elected Barangay and SK officials. The election was generally peaceful. I congratulate my son, who was also elected as Barangay Councilor in Barangay Tunasan,” said Fresnedi, who served as Muntinlupa mayor before winning as congressman in last year’s elections.
Constantino, meanwhile, will have to leave her position as councilor to serve as the new barangay chairperson of Cupang.
With the impending vacancy, Muntinlupa City Council’s Majority Floor Leader Raul Corro said Mayor Ruffy Biazon can appoint a new councilor who is a member of the same political party as Constantino.
However, the appointment of Constantino’s replacement depends on the decision of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“The mayor can recommend the appointment of a new councilor who is a member of the same political party vacated by Constantino. But it depends on the President if he will act on the recommendation,” Corro told Manila Bulletin.
He said there were instances when past presidents did not act on the mayor’s recommendations.
“Before there were vacancies in the city council due to election as barangay chairs but the President did not act on the mayor's recommendations. Another option is for the mayor not to make any recommendation and just await the next elections to fill up the vacancy,” he said.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec)-Muntinlupa released the list of winners in the BSKE on Nov. 4.
