Ten persons were hurt in a fire that gutted homes in Barangay Apolonio Samson, Quezon City on Sunday morning, Nov. 5.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the victims included residents and fire responders who sustained lacerations and abrasions and second degree burns in different parts of their bodies.
A fire volunteer reportedly sustained fractured wrists and a dislocated left elbow while helping in putting out the fire.
A 47-year-old woman also experienced dizziness and hyperventilation due to panic attack during the fire.
The victims were given immediate medical attention by the authorities.
The BFP said the blaze on Toctokan Street was raised to the first alarm at 7:33 a.m.
It went up to the second alarm at 7:51 a.m. then to the third alarm at 7:57 a.m.
The fire was declared under control at around 10:01 a.m. and was extinguished at 12:49 p.m.
Arson probers placed at P100,000 the estimated damage to property caused by the fire that burned around 20 houses.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
