Submit SOCEs before deadline, BSKE bets in Ilocos told

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – The Commission on Elections has reminded candidates of the recent barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls in the Ilocos region to submit their Statement of Contributions and Expenditures before the deadline on November 29.

Reddy Ceralde Balarbar, Comelec-Ilocos assistant regional director and acting city election officer here, urged winning and losing BSKE candidates in the Ilocos to submit their SOCEs as mandated by rules and guidelines of the agency.

Balarbar said winners can’t assume their posts unless they file their SOCEs.

He announced that the honorarium of Department of Education employees who served in the BSKE in Region 1 will be distributed on Monday, November 6.

Balarbar said they have received at least five complaints on premature campaigning and vote-buying in connection with the BSKE in the Ilocos region.

Two of them are from Pangasinan and one each from La Union, Ilocos Sur, and Ilocos Norte.

However, Balarbar said no one has filed a complaint against a candidate, making these complaints just a record of their office.
