The Philippines made a mark in the 2023 Pan Continental Curling Championships B Division after bagging the silver medal in Kelowna, British Columbia in Canada over the weekend.

Still, it was a proud moment for the squad in a winter sport that was unfamiliar to most Filipinos.
“Our men showcased incredible strength and determination, giving their all until the 10th end… We couldn’t be prouder of our Curling Pilipinas team’s performance!” The Curling Winter Sports Association of the Philippines posted on social media.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong downed Mexico, 10-7, to finish with the bronze medal.
The Filipinos actually edged Hong Kong in the semifinals with a 9-5 triumph for a trip to the finals.
Prior to making it into the four-team knockout stage, the Filipinos finished the group stage at second place behind China with a 6-1 win-loss record.
They clobbered Mexico, 12-4; India, 12-5; and Hong Kong, 12-5; before absorbing a 9-4 loss to China.
Still, it didn’t dampen the Filipinos’ spirits as they went on to crush Kenya, 16-1; Saudi Arabia, 16-0, and Brazil, 11-2, to advance to the knockout semis.
China, meanwhile, finished the preliminaries with a clean 7-0 slate before whipping Mexico, 7-1, for a spot in the final.
