Manila gives discounts to early tax payers

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan advised taxpayers in the city to pay early to get discounts.

On Saturday, Nov. 4, the mayor announced that the city government will soon release a schedule of discounts for Real Property Tax in 2024.

She had directed City Treasurer Jasmin Talegon to release a schedule of discounts for Real Property Tax for the tax year 2024.

According to Lacuna-Pangan, taxpayers who will give advance payments until Dec. 10, 2023, will get a 20 percent discount, while payments made from Dec. 11 to 29 will qualify the taxpayer for a 15 percent discount.

Prompt payments from Jan. 1 to 31, 2024, will entitle taxpayers to a 10 percent discount.

"Real property owners in Manila are advised to take advantage of the said discounts on this tax obligation," Mayor Honey stressed.

Only accounts without delinquencies will qualify for the discounts.

The city government reminded the taxpayers with updated accounts that payments can only be made online through the Go Manila app or http://www.gomanila.com, while those with delinquent accounts may pay via over-the-counter transactions at the E-BOSS center located inside the Manila City Hall.
