Leyte power coop lineman repairing transformer electrocuted


TACLOBAN CITY – A lineman from the Southern Leyte Electric Cooperative (SOLECO) died after he was electrocuted while repairing a transformer in Sogod, Southern Leyte,  on Friday, November 3. 

The victim was identified as Olvic Arayan, a lineman who had worked for SOLECO for 16 years.

Videos of the victim suspended in the air and seeming lifeless before he was rescued made rounds online. 

Arayan reportedly died on the spot.

"Our hearts go out to the bereaved family of Mr. Arayan. We grieve with you and offer our unwavering support during this difficult period," SOLECO said in a statement.

"We will always remember him for his hard work and dedication as one of SOLECO's Warriors of Light!"
