8 vehicles collide along NLEX in Bulacan on All Souls' Day
Eight vehicles collided along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Bulacan at the height of heavy downpour Thursday night, Nov. 2.
According to the NLEX Command Center, three Asian Utility Vehicles (AUVs) and one Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) collided along the southbound lane of the expressway in Bocaue, Bulacan at around 10:30 p.m.
Based on the statement of Len Buraga, wife of the driver of one of the three AUVs involved in the accident, they came from a family vacation in Pangasinan in observance of All Saints' Day and All Soul's Day.
They were traveling home to Las Pinas when the road accident happened.
She said the vehicle in front of them stopped, which prompted her husband to drive slowly but their car was hit by a vehicle behind them.
Raymond Palisoc, the driver of another AUV, stated that they also came from Pangasinan and traveled toward Marikina to mourn the death of their relatives.
Palisoc told NLEX investigators that the vehicle in front of them suddenly stopped so he immediately stepped on the brakes of his car but still hit it due slippery road.
Minutes later, NLEX traffic enforcers received another incident of road collision involving a pickup, two cars, and an L300 van in Balagras area. A car passenger was injured.
Before midnight, all vehicles involved in the road accident were removed from center of the expressway to ease the flow of traffic.
