Cignal turns back Farm Fresh

The HD Spikers brushed off a second-set collapse to improve their record to 3-2 in the standings and tie with the Akari Chargers at the sixth spot, who were the same team they previously defeated.

Ces Molina took charge as Cignal needed an extra set to turn back Farm Fresh, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20, 25-17, in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Second All-Filipino Conference on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

The HD Spikers brushed off a second-set collapse to improve their record to 3-2 in the standings and tie with the Akari Chargers at the sixth spot, who were the same team they previously defeated.

Molina led all scorers with 20 points highlighted by 18 attacks, while Marivic Meneses finished with 16 points.

Vanie Gandler and Jov Gonzaga, for their parts, also breached the double-digit mark with 14 and 13 points, respectively.

Cignal couldn’t secure a 2-0 set lead, but eventually flexed its might in the sets that followed en route to its second straight win.

Trisha Tubu’s 19-point finish paced the Foxies as they were kept winless in six games.

Farm Fresh hasn’t found its breakthrough yet since joining the PVL in the previous conference.
