Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano led the opening of “Enjoy Mo Ito” market on Wednesday, Nov. 29, located at the Pasay City Hall grounds.
Rubiano was joined by Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Assistant Secretary Dominic Tolentino, Jr. and the Pasay City Cooperative Development Office during the opening of the market which is part of the activities prepared in celebration of the city’s 160th founding anniversary on Dec. 2.
“Coming off from the Coop month in October, we have reignited our emphasis on our Coop at ang mga nabibigay nitong mga pagkakataon sa ating mga kapamilya dito sa Pasay. On the other hand, we have also tapped institutions from the travel and trade industries, dahil as a future smart and sustainable EcoCity, travel and trade will be a couple of our strong fronts, lalo na dahil ang ating tahanan na Pasay City, ay talaga namang ang gateway to Metro Manila. And in welcoming everyone -- tourists, traders, business venturers, we have to remind each and everyone of them that Pasay means progress, as illustrated by having our own, homegrown Pasayeño in the frontlines of these highly-reputable sectors,” Rubiano said. The mayor said the travel, trade, and coop fair will showcase products made in the city like food, soap, clothing, and others that are being produced by the cooperatives.
