Man killed over unpaid debt in Quezon

SAN FRANCISCO, Quezon – A 45-year-old man was shot dead by four individuals allegedly over an unpaid debt in Barangay Pagsangahan here on Wednesday afternoon, November 29.

Police identified the victim as Ricky Aniban, married, and a resident of Sitio Tumbaga, Barangay Pagsangahan.

Initial investigation said Aniban was driving his motorcycle with his wife as back rider when the suspects blocked their way.

One of the suspects drew a gun and shot the victim in the head without a word, killing him instantly.

A suspect, Gilbert, boarded the victim’s motorcycle and fled with his cohorts, leaving Aniban’s wife behind.

Further investigation said that the suspects’ motive was the unpaid debt of the victim.

Police arrived some time after the crime was committed as the area is about 53 kilometers away from the police station.
