LTO suspends car registration, driver's license of SUV driver in viral road rage in Taguig City
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has suspended for 90 days both the registration and driver’s license of a motorist who stopped his sports utility vehicle (SUV) in the middle of C-5 Road in Taguig City and confronted a truck driver in another road rage incident that went viral on social media.
LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II said a Show Cause Order (SCO) was also issued to the SUV driver wherein he was asked to submit a notarized written explanation as to why he should not be penalized over the incident that happened on Nov. 24.
In the viral video, the SUV driver was seen forcing the truck driver to hand in his driver’s license.
Mendoza said he personally saw the video and cited several violations that the SUV driver had committed.
In the SCO signed by LTO-NCR Regional Director Roque Verzosa III, the driver of the SUV was cited for at least three violations; reckless driving, obstruction of traffic and improper person to operate a motor vehicle.
In the same SCO, the SUV driver, a resident of Taguig City, was ordered to appear before the LTO-NCR Office on December 4.
