DPWH completes P29-M flood control system in Cagayan

SOLANA, Cagayan – The Department of Public Works and Highways-Cagayan Third District Engineering Office has completed the construction of a flood control system on the Cagayan River in Barangay Andarayan here.

District Engineer Mariano B. Malupeng said the project fortifies the safety and security of residences, businesses, and livelihoods close to the river.

This infrastructure also reinforces the resilience of 4,500 residents in the area against potential flooding incidents, he said.

The P29-million project was funded under this year’s General Appropriations Act.

It is 133-meters long and has a concrete revetment integrated with parapet walls, intricately connected to the pile cap of a line of steel sheet piles.
