The 3rd Infantry Division (ID) inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the National Irrigation Administration (NIA-6) on Thursday, November 30, for the security of the Jalaur River Multi-Purpose Project-Stage II (JRMP-II).

“Let us view this MOA not just as a legal document, but as a symbol of collaboration, resilience, and a shared vision for a better future,” said Major General Marion Sison, 3rd ID commander.

The structural construction of the three JRMP-II dams in Calinog town were completed this week and other works are being finished to enable the structure to be operational next year.

The military is confident that it can secure the project situated in Central Panay Island, a hotbed for New People’s Army (NPA) rebels.

“Together, the NIA and the Philippine Army stand united to secure the lifeline of the Jalaur River Multi-Purpose Project, ensuring its benefits as the water flows seamlessly to the people it is supposed to supply,” Sison added.

"We are about to finish this project, and only the irrigation components are lacking. But in the specific area where we really need your assistance, we are confident that it will be completed with your help," said NIA-6 Regional Manager Jonel Borres.
