Bishop Bagaforo cited the role of barangay and SK officials in ensuring that their constituents benefit from the programs of the national government.

“Elected officials must not let their personal interests to prevail in their governance. They must always prioritize the welfare of the people or the common good,” the Church leader said.

“We urge you to serve the best interests of your barangays and to work tirelessly to improve the lives of your constituents,” said Bishop Bagaforo.

The prelate expressed his gratitude to all concerned agencies for the success of the recent elections such as the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the Philippine National Police , volunteers of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), and the teachers who manned the polling precincts.

“We thank you for going beyond your civic duty and for your commitment to ensuring that our elections were free, fair, and peaceful. Your sacrifices and dedication are truly commendable,” he said.

Bishop Bagaforo assured the newly elected barangay and SK officials of the Church’s prayers and support for their community programs.
