Tacloban apologizes for transporting teachers serving in BSKE via dump truck
TACLOBAN CITY – The city government issued an apology following a viral post of a teacher claiming that they had been transported to schools on a dump truck during the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on October 30.

THE Tacloban City government apologized in a statement written in the 'Waray' dialect for the treatment teachers received in the barangay elections.
"We, in the city (government) are trying to improve public service as best as we can. We may have committed a mistake, but it does not mean that we do not give you importance," it said.
The teacher, whose post has been deleted, expressed disappointment over the treatment they received while serving in the elections.
The city administrator stressed that they respect and recognize the contribution of educators not only for their services and efforts during elections.
"Our teachers look after and teach our children and the youth in schools. Rest assured that we will ensure to improve our services and programs in our city, as well as avoid the same mistake from happening although unintentional."
The city administrator thanked the teacher for informing them of any mistakes or concerns to enable them to provide better quality of service.
