Quezon City Police District Director Brig. Gen Redrico Maranan said on Friday, Nov. 3, that ‘Undas’ or All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day 2023, was observed peacefully in the city.
“Tuwing ginugunita ang Undas taun-taon, matinding preparasyon ang isinasagawa namin upang masiguro ang kaligtasan at seguridad ng bawat taong dadalaw sa kani-kanilang mga mahal sa buhay na namayapa na,” Maranan said. (For the yearly Undas, we make all the necessary preparations to ensure the safety of our people while paying homage to their departed loved ones.)
According the local police chief, the city recorded no Undas-related incident and attributed this to their coordination with the local government, force multipliers, barangay personnel, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, and other related agencies.

He added that a total of 3,864 personnel, which included 158 policemen assigned to six cemeteries, and 119 to 27 columbaria in the city, were deployed from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2.
He added there were 52 lawmen deployed to bus terminals, 54 to Metro and Light Rail Transit (MRT/LRT) Stations, 232 to places of convergence, 182 in major thoroughfares, and 1,067 for anti-criminality operations in Quezon City from Oct. 27 to Nov. 2.
Around 87,095 visitors went to six cemeteries in the city as of 6 p.m. on Nov. 2, the police said.
Maranan also inspected bus terminals, the Quezon Memorial Circle, and cemeteries to ensure peace and order during the observance of Undas.
He said that they are expecting an influx of passengers returning to Metro Manila from different provinces after Undas and assured that the police are still on guard.
He added that police assistance desks were set up in train stations and bus terminals to provide assistance to commuters.
