CEBU CITY – The observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days in Central Visayas was generally peaceful, the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7) said.

Police Lt. Col. Gerard Ace Pelare, spokesperson of PRO-7 chief Police Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, said the crime rate in Central Visayas went down by 40 percent with only 19 crime incidents from October 31 to November 2, compared to the same period last year with 35.
The peaceful observance of All Saints and All Souls’ Days showed that the PRO-7’s deployment of security personnel was effective, said Pelare.
Pelare disclosed that during the period, four shooting incidents were recorded, two in Cebu City and two in Carcar City.
He said the four shooting incidents were considered solved as two perpetrators have been arrested while the two others have been identified and are already being tracked down.
“These four shooting incidents did not affect the entire observance of ‘kalag-kalag’ (Undas). There were four shooting incidents but we will do our best that the perpetrators who are at-large will be arrested and appropriate charges will be filed,” said Pelare.
