LTO ‘Oplan: Undas’ nets 800 vehicles in Central Visayas


CEBU CITY – Over 800 vehicles in Central Visayas were apprehended during the strict enforcement of the Land Transportation Office-Central Visayas’ (LTO-7) “Oplan: Undas 2023.”

The LTO-7 said that 851 vehicles were apprehended during the roadside inspection and random law enforcement operations from October 16 to November 1.

Anti-colorum operations netted 14 unregistered vehicles, said LTO-7 Director Glen Galario.

LTO-7’s Oplan: Undas 2023 ends on Friday, November 3.

“Because of the long holidays, we expect the influx of passengers by Saturday, November 4. So our team remains on alert in making sure that our riding public will have a safe journey back to their homes,” said Galario.

As part of Oplan: Undas operations, LTO-7 conducted random terminal inspections at the Cebu North Bus Terminal, Cebu South Bus Terminal, SM City Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) Terminal, Hagnaya Port Terminal, Daanbantayan Bus Terminal, Bantayan Island Transport Terminal, and Bogo PUV Terminal in Cebu.

The Jagna PUV Terminal, Tagbilaran City PUV Terminal, Talibon PUV Terminal, and Tubigon Port and PUV Terminals in Bohol were also inspected, as well as the Bais PUV Terminal, Manjuyod Bus Terminal, Dumaguete City Ceres Terminal, Dumaguete Transport Terminal, and Bayawan Transport Terminal in Negros Oriental and Siquijor PUV and Port Terminals in Siquijor.

Galario said out of the 760 PUVs that were inspected in these terminals, 38 were found to have various defects.

Operators were ordered to immediately fix the defects so they will be allowed to transport passengers again.
