Elyu represent! Castelo says La Union beach is 'Boracay-like'

At a glance

  • For former Quezon City 2nd district congressman Winnie Castelo, the beaches up north in La Union are as good as the ones in world-famous Boracay.

For former Quezon City 2nd district congressman Winnie Castelo, the beaches up north in La Union are as good as the ones in the world-famous Boracay.

"Hello from the beaches of La Union! 🏝️," Castelo wrote in a Facebook post on Friday night, Nov. 3.

The post came with a selfie of him and his wife Precious, who is also a former House member.

But it was the background of the photo that they wanted to show off.

"Super enjoy kami ni Cong. Precious sa mala-Boracay na beach resort na ito sa La Union dahil sa maputi at pino nitong mga buhangin," Castelo, a former chairman of the House Committee on Metro Manila Development, said.

(Me and Cong. Precious really enjoyed the Boracay-like beach resort here in La Union because of its white and fine sand.)

"Saan man tayo ngayong undas, sulitin natin ang maikling bakasyon na ito upang magnilay kasama ang ating pamilya at mga mahal sa buhay. 💙," added Castelo ,who is also a former Quezon City councilor.

(Wherever we are this All Saints' Day, let's make the most of this short vacation by meditating together with other family and loved ones.)

Boracay in Aklan is arguably the crown jewel of Philippine tourism, so for Castelo to compare it to a La Union Beach is a big compliment.
